Honky Tonk Dreams by @SexyMuffyWilson ~ Flash Fiction Friday

Flash Fiction Friday spent with friends and compatriots. You know the challenge: one hundred words about a single photo. Mine follows along with the list of wonderful scribe participating in this small, fun event. You can visit them from the links below or from our group page. But do please visit them and comment too.

You know how we are......Enjoy ~  ☼ o√ ¸.¨¯`*..*˜"*°

Honky Tonk Dreams
The old upright came from a 100 year old tavern that was being replaced by a Carl’s Jr.  Keys stuck; it looked like junk, needed refurbishing and restringing, but the history, not the future of the old piano was intriguing.

The sheet music in the bench was a treasure trove. Whose fingerprints aged with the parchment? Whose tears stained the torn and discolored torch songs? Was that jelly from the sticky hands of a child learning the scales or blood?

Should we move on or hold on? Does the future hold more than the past, rich with old love and brittle experience?

It does…..

  3. Love this sweet story. I have a Tom Thumb piano. I don't play anymore but I love it for its age and history. I often wonder where it came from and who else had played music on its old ivory keys. This made me think of my Tom Thumb :)

I was born when we kissed; I died when we parted. I lived in your embrace while we loved..........
