CHARACTER INTERVIEW/GUEST POST
Well, Today I’m delighted to introduce you to Jenna Baker and Brady Connolly from Bittersweet.
Jennifer: Good morning to you both, it’s nice to see you visiting us again.
Brady: Mornin’
Jenna: Good morning, Jennifer. It’s great to be back. We’re back in Canada to help my parents finalize everything before the move. Their moving to Dublin to be closer to us, and we couldn’t be happier, especially Jayden. We missed them.

Jennifer: I bet, that’s wonderful news. Speaking of Jayden, how is he coping with all of the changes? He must miss his father.
Jenna: He does, *fans face* it’s just too bad Tyler won’t come around.
Brady: T’is his loss, love. I’d luv te clatter im in the jaw fer hurtin’ the two o’ye.
Jenna: Can you see why I love this man so much? That’s part of the reason we’re here as well. I was hoping to see Tyler before we head back to gain some closure. *Jenna looks at Brady lovingly and caresses the side of his face* just me and Jayden for now to give him one more shot to make amends. I owe Jayden at least that much I think. Tyler is his father after all. Jayden loves Ireland though. In fact, he already has Brady’s parents wrapped around his little finger. Although, Shelby certainly gives him some competition in that department, she’s only a few months old and she already knows how to charm people.
Brady: O’ course. She’s just like her ol’ man. As fer Tyler, I can give ye space te do tha’ if ye need it but, swear to Christ Jenna the gobshite better give ye fair play.

Jennifer: Yes well… *clears throat and opts for a subject change*
Your daughter is definitely a chip off the old block. I never got to properly congratulate the two of you. Shelby is so precious.
Jenna: Thank you, she is isn’t she.
Brady: A beauty like ‘er Ma.

Jennifer: Definitely, so tell me, Jenna, how does it feel to have your story finally told? Yours is a unique one.
Jenna: That it is. I think you did a great job with it, and Brady was the best part. Although, I blush every time I get to the intimate parts. Sam gets a kick out of it, and makes sure to tease me. God love her.
Brady: *Leans down to capture a kiss from Jenna.* We’ve got a lot te thank her for. If it wasn’t fer Sam’s meddilin’ ways we might’ve never met.

Jennifer: How are Sam and Caleb?
Jenna: They’re doing great. They’re expecting their first child this spring. A little girl so Shelby will soon have a playmate to enjoy. Hopefully they’ll be the best of friends like Sam and I are, and Brady and Caleb.

Jennifer: I’ll have to congratulate her the next time I see her then. Poor Jayden’s going to be outnumbered. Have you both thought about having any more children in the future to try for another boy?
Brady: Oh yeah.
Jenna: Maybe one day, but I just had Shelby and having another one isn’t on my list of priorities at the moment. *chuckles* I want to enjoy Brady, Jayden, our daughter a little while more first, and maybe when my mind forgets how painful childbirth was, then maybe we can talk. Oh lord…

Jennifer: Uh oh, here why don’t you take a little tissue. *Hands Jenna the Kleenex box.*
Jenna: I’m afraid I’m going to have cut this short and go change. I’m so embarrassed. My breasts usually don’t leak unless Shelby gets fussy.
Brady: *Chuckles* well, love, I think I hear her now.
*Baby cries in the background, there’s a knock at the door.* Jenna’s mother, Delilah, enters: Sorry Jenna but this little girl is hungry. *Shelby wails as Jenna reaches for her.*

Jennifer: I understand. I’d like to thank you both for joining me today. It was a pleasure to write the book and I loved catching up. Take care of yourselves and if I’m ever vacationing in Dublin I’ll be sure to stop in to say hi.
Jenna: Oh please do.
Brady: *extends his hand to shake* Thank ye.

BLURB:
An accident on a rain-slicked highway leaves Jenna Baker alone…

Jenna is scarred, confused and vulnerable after surviving an accident that took her husband’s life. After a year of mourning Tyler and struggling to raise their son on her own, Jenna’s best friend whisks her off to fulfill her lifelong dream of visiting Ireland. She never dreamed her trip would include a self-appointed tour guide in the form of a sexy Irishman with piercing blue eyes and a smile that promises to fill her empty heart.

Brady Connelly is irresistibly drawn to the lovely, broken Yank…

As the weeks pass, Brady comforts and supports Jenna, convincing her to live and chase her dreams. His attraction to her grows and their chemistry ignites, but Jenna isn’t sure she’s truly ready to move on. How can he convince her to release the past and take a leap of faith…with him?

The impossible happens, and Jenna’s world is thrown into chaos…

Tyler is alive and re-enters Jenna’s life, burdened with guilty secrets. Jenna knows she has to try to make things work between them, if only for their son’s sake, but she’s blessed—or cursed—with vivid visions of Brady. The visions begin to consume her and leave her questioning her sanity and the bittersweet nature of her marriage.

Jenna’s dreams of Brady become her lifeline as she questions the boundaries of fantasy and reality.

Is her one hope for happiness waiting for her somewhere across the sea?

Reviews:  “First, let me say that when I read the blurb of this novel the first thing I thought was that this could either be really great or really depressing.  It was definitely GREAT!!  The main and supporting characters were solid, and you will either love them or hate them (okay, loathe is probably the better word there).  The ending was satisfying and worth the emotional ride that this novel brings us through.
I give this novel 5 stars for it’s ambitious and successful telling of this woman’s life-altering trials and happily ever after!” ~The TBR Pile - http://thetbrpile.weebly.com/reviews/giveaway-bittersweet-by-jennifer-labelle~

EXCERPT:

After mingling a little, the partygoers drifted outside to the yard, and Jenna leaned against one of the large French doors connected to the house while Sam went to fill her plate with goodies. She took a sip of wine and smiled when their host seated the
guest of honor in the middle of the crowd and tapped his glass to gather everyone’s attention.

“We’re here to celebrate the love of me life. Sarah blessed this ol’ heart years ago, and I thank God for her every day. May we drink to celebrate, get drunk to fall asleep, because when we fall we commit no sin, an’ when we commit no sin, we go to heaven. But, before we continue on I’ve got a li’l somethin’…” Cian reached inside his pocket and withdrew the small box with Sarah’s gift. She gasped the moment she laid eyes on the delicate pair of earrings and laughed and cried joyously when he put them on her.

Jenna smiled wide and wiped a tear of her own when Cian began his speech again. “May God grant us both many years to go on, for sure he must be knowin’ the earth has angels all too few. Slainte chuig na fir, agus go mairfidh na mna go deo. An’ for those who don’t know what I be sayin’…” He held his drink high. “Health to the men, and may the women live forever! I love ye.”

Cheers and whistles erupted, and that might have been why she hadn’t seen him approach until the last second. “The ol’ man sure has a way with words.”

“I think it’s beautiful.” Jenna smiled and turned to face the good-looking stranger. “If only we were all that lucky.” She tipped her drink toward the kissing older couple and then took a sip while she watched him from above the rim. Whoever he was,
he was tall, slender, and very pleasing to the eye with his short, tousled dirty-blonde hair and sparkling green eyes. She instantly liked him.

“Aye, if only,” he agreed. “The name’s Callum, and ’tis always a pleasure to meet such a lovely bird.”

“Oh you definitely have to be related to our hosts. I’ve never met a bunch of men with such flirtatious charm. Or maybe it’s just the Irish in general.” She giggled, “Whatever it is, it’s quite refreshing.”

“Oh, well I’m glad ye think so.” He winked.
