Hello, it’s nice to meet you. Can I pour you a cup of tea?

How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?

I wrote a lot in High School and then put it away when I finished University. Nine years ago, I started writing fan fiction again, and I’ve been writing ever since.

How did you come up with this storyline?

I had an idea for a secretary turning the tables on her boss. Then that boss became a family doctor.

What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?

There are few lulls or dead spaces in my stories. Unfortunately, that often results in stories that go too fast and end too quickly. I’ve gotten some feedback regarding that problem.

What are 3 of your favorite quotes from Dynamic Destiny?

~ Of course, that shouldn’t make her feel warm and fuzzy. It should terrify her. What would happen when he learned who she was?

Sliding behind her wheel, she rested her forehead on it. She was so screwed.

~ Next time he was at the club, he would do what it took to get Mistress D’s attention.

~ Leaning back into the chair, she sighed. His fingers worked along her arch, thumbs digging into her heel. Knots built over the day melted away, leaving her toes tingling. He rubbed those next, flexing them up and down. She sighed when he switched feet. He was better at this than she expected. Her hand brushed the strap on she still wore and she stroked it, enjoying the feeling.

Are reader reviews important to you? Why?

No. I mean I love getting them, but I try not to read them. A bad one can really set me back.

What do you do when you don’t write? Like in “Real Life”

I am an environmental consultant focusing on plants and vegetation. It’s seasonal, but keeps me busy!

Tell us about your other books?

I have two series. The first and longest is Blue Moon House about a BDSM house of vampires. Each subsequent book goes back in time to reveal how each vampire came to Blue Moon House. The other is Ghosts of Salem. Each of the four members of a coven in present-day Salem are tied to a witch foremother. The gain control of their power and talents through visions and interactions with Geoffrey, a ghost from the witch trials that haunts their house.

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
Cardiac Melody tells the story of Melody and the Paramedic she falls for after literally falling for him. I liked the play between cardiac, of the heart, and the name, so I mushed them together. I’m funny like that. When thinking about a medical romance, the BDSM side shouted, hey, how about a newbie that gets hurt and meets someone who can really show her the ropes (pun intended). It came together pretty quickly after that.

Tell us something about yourself: I live in Edmonton, Alberta with my husband and daughter. My day jobs include environmental consultant and lunch supervisor, because, y’know, two jobs wasn’t enough. I do have a Science degree and my specialty is native plants. It’s a good thing school is out in July and August or I’d have no time to think!

Tell us about your writing process:
My stories all revolve around character. The basic plots come most often in the form of She is trying to convince Him of Conflict. As I build those characters, I often meet their friends, relatives, pets and other pressures that build the story. I tend to write chronologically, but when I hit a block, I try to jump ahead and then fill in the gap later.

What is your favorite genre to read?
Audiobooks. I have found my reading very spotty and my concentration isn’t always able to slow down to the pace I read. Audiobooks let my hands and analytical brain do other things so the rest can actually enjoy the story.

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
Leaving a better world for my daughter. I try to do that in the way I live, my job, and our family choices. For instance, we only have one car, which my husband needs to get to work (no buses that way). We walk to school and work. It’s one of the reasons I love ebooks. Save the trees and all that.

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
There are several handicrafts I enjoy. Crochet, needlepoint and recently I’ve taken up adult coloring. It is wonderfully relaxing.

If someone who hasn’t read any your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
Fifty fan meets the Paramedic version of an upgraded Christian Grey.
