Today, when he didn’t see her, he was disconcerted.
He was changing the link chain for the gym punchbag when he
saw her arrive. His breath froze in his chest; his heart repeated a fluttered rhythm
and his feet were weighted in place.
Her long auburn curls were tied in a scarlet ponytail with wisps
of errant red curls framing her porcelain face. Her cheeks, flushed from the
bitter cold, magnified her emerald eyes. A sprinkling of iridescent sweat glistened
between her breasts. She moved gracefully toward him with a radiant smile.
“Need help with that?”
Then her eyes dropped to his heavier agony.
“I...I..ahhhhh…………..”
