Flash Fiction Friday, 10 October 2014 ~ Ribbons of Red

Yep, you are right; it's Friday and a bunch of perverts get together and create 100 word flash fiction stories based upon a single source photograph common to us all. Some are sexy, others full of vampires or comedy; some are sensuous, erotic, mouth-watering. This one is none of those.

But, as always, we aim to please any way the muse inspires us, so do please, leave a comment. Then, please visit the other contributing author pages and read how the same picture inspired them, to what, you won't know unless you go read them. They are listed on our group page above and below or, if you prefer, the writers are listed one by one like tears.

Enjoy ~  ☼ o√ ¸.¨¯`*..*˜"*°

Ribbons of Red
Henry waited confidently for his turn to dive from the 30 meter springboard-platform. He’d done it a thousand times before and a thousand times before that.

He approached the platform, but slipped ever so slightly on his upward bounce. His timing and balance off, an otherwise always perfectly executed move caused his head to hit the platform upon decent.

The horrified gasp from the gallery was so loud...so thick...Coach thought it might catch Henry, suspending him in safety. But, it did not; Henry drifted into the water with a clumsy, slow-motion grace of a rag-doll followed by tear-stained satin ribbons of red.

  3. Wonderful imagery. I especially like the idea of a gasp being thick enough to turn solid. Fantastic.
