Flash Fiction Friday, 2 January 2015 ~ Awakening Hope

Flash Fiction Friday and I am still trying to finish Emily. It was due yesterday but I am forgiving myself since it was a holiday.

But, I owe you this flash today. If, after you have read my piece on hope and renewal--in concert with the New Year--please visit and read the other authors 100 word pieces based upon the photo below. As always, comments are shamelessly encouraged.

Happy New Year. Bounty and Blessings to you all.

Awakening Hope
One man sought out the other’s comfort.  It is not enough to have failed.
It is not enough
                      to have
                                tried.
It is not enough to weather disappointment.

As the day melts away, the sun weeps into the dark embrace of the night, swirls of thrash and leaves dance with the wind to celebrate renewal. The trees sway with life…

I am weary. My skin to my heart feels the weight of my collapse.

He looks with eager, loving brown eyes; he is happiest with just another day in my presence as he curls against my heart awakening hope.
It is enough
                to try
                       …….again.

I was born when we kissed; I died when we parted. I lived in your embrace while we loved..........
