BOOK SYNOPSIS

Lexi Reliving my past. Confronting my mother. Finding my family.
The summer before my senior year is a roller coaster of emotions, but I make it. I come out on the other side, stronger and ready to face my last year of San Francisco State University, when life takes another direction. The rock I’ve come to count on disappears emotionally and leaves me reeling. Will we find our way, or will I be lost and alone again?
Derek Watching her pain. Lifting her up. Loving her strength.
The summer before my senior year is better than I could’ve imagined. Her strength knows no bounds and is truly inspiring to everyone around her. Then the phone call from my past comes and knocks me off my feet. Unable to look at her while dealing with this, I hide, like a coward. Will I get over this moment from my past, or will it drive a permanent wedge between us?

EXCERPT

“You don’t know how happy it makes me to leave here with no reason to look back. Knowing I left everything behind feels like I’ve lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders. I feel so much lighter, like I can breathe freely again. The clamp around my lungs is gone.”
In that moment, the joy on her face touches me in a way I can’t even explain, and I can’t help but pick her up and twirl her around, sharing in her excitement. I hope the expression on her face is here to stay. My stomach has been in knots for days wondering what she would have to deal with here, but this ending is more than I could’ve ever imagined.

AUTHOR BIO

Hi! I'm Lisa. I live in SUNNY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA with my wonderful husband and two teenage children. With two kids in high school and involved in activities both inside and outside of school, I have a lot to juggle. When home, I lock myself inside the office to write. I've always loved to write, but life always seemed to be too busy.
When inspiration finally hit, I made the most of the time hubby and kids were busy and published my first book in February 2014. I've published a total of 4 books in the past year and am hoping to bring you a few more before 2015 ends.

The Book:  Loving Lexi

Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
The good guy.  The one with the heart.  The same way I like them in real life.

What is your greatest fear?
Dying by drowning.

Who or what has been the greatest love of your life? Why, How?
The Greatest Love of my life has been my hubby.  I met him a week before my 17th birthday and went to school and told all my friends that I’d met the man I was going to marry.  He was 20 at the time.  It was only a few weeks before we started dating.  The rough patch of our relationship was early on when a friend’s sister was killed by a drunk driver and I struggled with the fact that he was getting ready to turn 21 and would be out with his friends drinking.  I lived in a home with an alcoholic and wasn’t interested in being around anyone drinking.  There were a few arguments and I was pretty sure he’d tell me I was nuts and leave.  But he didn’t.  After we got passed that, the rest was relatively easy.  We’ve been together since 1993, married in 1998, have two kids, and are still very much in love.  He is a wonderful man, great husband, and fabulous father.  I am one of the lucky ones.  (I think he’s pretty lucky too)

Which book have you read the most in your lifetime? Why?
Bridge to Terabithia was my favorite childhood book and I read it over and over because I loved the story of the purity of friendship.  As a teen The Grapes of Wrath was a favorite and was read many times after having to read it for Language Arts.  I’ve always been drawn to strong women characters and people who stand up for their beliefs.  I love the hope of reaching for your dreams.  As an adult, I have to say that Lacey Weatherford’s Chasing Nikki has had the most profound impact on me however, I’ve only read it once.  I’m not sure I could do it again.  I’ve never cried uglier than when reading that book.  I think the reason it resonates with me is that the characters felt so real to me and since I work with that age group, the tragedy felt all too real.

What quality do you most admire in a woman/man, lover/spouse or influencer/boss?
I don’t think these people share “the best qualities.”  In a boss/influencer, I think someone firm but fair is best.  They need to be objective and able to differentiate between personal and business.  As for just a regular man/woman, I guess it depends what role they are playing in your life.  As for lover/spouse, loyalty would be something to admire since it seems to be hard to find.  I think loyalty leads into supportiveness and confidence.  All together they make a killer combo.

What does your family/friends think about your career as a published author?
Honestly, my family and friends have been a huge support.  They talk to people about my books, buy them, post about them, and generally encourage me in a positive way.

Which book that you’ve written is your favorite?
Each book is different to me and I love them all for different reasons.  My favorite to write was Project Lexi because it’s the start of a big project and the characters spoke to me so clearly when writing.

Do you have any interesting quirks or rituals?
Quirks??? Well, I hate the movie theater because all I can focus on is the eating…digging through popcorn tubs, slurping drinks, chewing with open mouths, opening candy.  It seriously makes my skin crawl.

How can readers connect with you online?
On my author page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/authorlisasurvillas or twitter @LisaSurvillas or Instagram @authorlisasurvillas)

Can you tell us what is coming up next for you?
I am currently working on a novella for The Happy Endings Resort Series that will release at the end of September.  I’m hoping to finish the Lexi Series with book 3 in the fall, and hoping to finish The Finding Series.  I have a couple of stand alone’s in progress, but they are on the back burner while I finish these others.

Project Lexi (The Lexi Series #1) by @LisaSurvillas ~ Blog Tour and Rafflecopter #Giveaway

Title: Project Lexi
Series: The Lexi Series #1
Author: Lisa Survillas
Genre: NA Romance
Release Date: June 19, 2014
Lexi Crandall’s world is turned upside down her junior year of high school. Her confession tears her family apart and leaves them broken. Looking for an escape after graduation, she heads out of town for college. Wracked with guilt and shame, she keeps to herself, befriending only her roommate, Paige.

Derek Fressen experiences one tragedy after another. After learning to cope with being raised by a single mom, he and his sister, Tiffany, become closer than ever. When Tiffany escapes for college, Derek takes the opportunity to leave his past behind as well.

San Francisco State University is where Lexi and Derek find themselves junior year, thrown into the most uncomfortable situation possible, a group project that requires each to open up about their past. Their grade depends upon the ability to prove to the professor through a class presentation that they truly learned about one another.

Painful memories and terrifying tests of courage propel Lexi to learn how to take baby steps in the healing process, and give hope of one day feeling normal. Although he feels he’s pretty well healed from the horrible events of his past, Derek is lonely and longing for a life of more.

Will Lexi and Derek be able to share enough of their lives with each other to pass the class? How much will Lexi let Derek help her in the process? Are their tragic pasts too much to overcome, or will love be in their future?

**NOTE: This book is intended for readers 18+ due to explicit sexual situations and alcohol consumption.**
