The Book: Sex Lies & Fruit Flies: Forbidden Love

1. Tell us about your newest release.

My newest release is also my first release and I'm super proud of it. It is fantasy with an adult element as well. I had a thing for mermaids growing up, so I definitely had to include mermaids in my book. Sex Lies & Fruit Flies: Forbidden Love is the first book in a two part series. The second book should be released by fall 2016.

2. Who or what has been the greatest love of your life?

My children hands down. I never wanted children and I had my son and he was and still is amazing and I knew I had to have more. So I have a boy and a girl and they have taught me so much about myself. I know people say that all the time, but they really are what keeps me going. My son was actually the one that actually put the bug in my ear to actually write and finish a book. They're just children, but they give life in general a different perspective.

3. What do your family and friends think about your career as a published author?

To be honest not very many people in my family know I've written and finished a book they can actually buy. I'm a pretty private person, so my closest friends know and my grandmother, but she doesn't really get the e-publishing thing. However, she says she's proud.

4. Where do you get your greatest ideas for writing?

I daydream and dream a whole lot, so mainly from my wandering mind. I remember getting in trouble often in school because I would completely tune out my teachers with thoughts of my characters and plots. I would then go home and spend the entire evening writing my stories in a black and white composition book. I would fill a couple of those books up a month.

5. What is your writing routine?

I prefer to write in complete silence or with natural background noises. I do most of my writing on the weekends, so Saturday mornings and Sunday nights usually. I really need at least four uninterrupted hours to get any good writing accomplished.I can't stand writing and being interrupted, so if I can't have four hours to just write, then I will not write at all.

7. Can you tell us what's coming up next for you?

Next will be the second book in the Sex Lies & Fruit Flies series. It will follow the main characters Morgan and Wyatt from where they left off in book one. If you enjoyed book one, then you'll love book two.

8. What is your greatest regret?

Not writing and publishing sooner. I was so worried about thing that really shouldn't have mattered and definitely don't matter now. It is just such an awesome feeling of accomplishment to finally have finished a story. I wish I would have done it a long time ago.

9. If you could choose to be a character in a book, who would it be? Why?

I would choose to be a lot of characters. There are way too many to choose. I do know that no matter the book I will always choose to be the damsel in distress or just the woman girl that falls madly in love with someone they know they shouldn't be with. I'm so far away from that in real life that I think books allow me that fantasy. In life I'm in control or I'd like to think I am, but I can imagine I've let go when you put yourself in the character's shoes.

10. Who is your favorite hero of fiction?

Superman! I've loved Superman since I was a little girl and as a woman I love him even more. I don't care who plays him because they've all been hot, but I do appreciate Henry Cavill's version of Superman.

Paullina has been writing and reading since she learned how.

She is a volunteer literacy tutor for adult learners and believes knowing how to

read can take you anywhere and everywhere you want to go.

She enjoys writing romance with steamy scenes as that is what she enjoys reading.

You'll seldom find her without pen and paper as she prefers written words over

typed any day. She was born and raised in Maryland about a mile away from

Washington, D.C. and loves it. Other than writing and reading, her two children

are the loves of her life and occupy her days while writing and reading occupy her nights.

She loves good food and funny movies and hopes you enjoy reading her stories

as much as she enjoyed writing them.
