EXCERPT

Yekaterinburg, Russia:
A crowd had gathered in the reception room in the basement of the Mockba Theatre. The room wasn’t particularly large, yet it was quite elegant with red velvet swags hung in the archways, gilded crown moldings, and crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. A bar was set up in one corner while a violinist played softly in another.
“It is ridiculous! An outrage! Dominik Potrovic should be included in the auction!” Ivan Belsky bit out in Russian. “A choice, that is what the contributors’ should have! We spend a lot of money at these parties!”
Natalia waved at the bartender for a glass of wine. “I have already explained this to you, Ivan. Dominik is in a relationship with our choreographer, Edvar. He is not available for the auctions.”
“Several of the dancers are married! Yet here they are—to be auctioned as the rest. I understand why Silja Ramsay is not present—she is an American, but there is not excuse for Dominik!”
“I do not understand. You always choose from the box filled with the ballerina’s shoes, not the male dancers. So why do you fuss?”
“I enjoy the girls very much. But Dominik—”
“If you are not happy with our selection of dancers, pull your bid and be on your way.”
Red-faced with frustration, Belsky let out a loud harrumph, and then stalked into the party just as Ballard Crafton rounded the corner.
“Where is Silja?” he asked Natalia as he searched through the party guests. The room was filled with men, a few older women, and most of the dancers from the Novikov Ballet Company. Only one dancer in particular was missing... Silja Ramsay.
“As always, there are plenty of lovely ballerinas here to choose from this evening, Ballard. Forget Silja for now. I will keep working to make her come around.
“No. I am tired of spending time with ballerinas that I don’t want. I only fantasize that she is Silja. I want Silja!” Ballard said.

CHARACTER BIOS

Grant Ketchum is one hot First Force operative. Cover model, Stuart Tomlinson from the UK is the very picture of the overtly handsome ex-marine. Super muscular with sandy hair, and intense bedroom eyes that any woman would be mesmerized by—he’s definitely your next romantic suspense book boyfriend. Grant is out to rescue his lost ballerina from a powerful man’s subjugation, and if they survive, will she dance out of his life again? It’s a risk he’s willing to take! Are you ready for the thrill ride?
Silja (Sil-ya) Ramsay: After losing her American adoptive parents in a car accident, this tall slender golden brunette ballerina decided to follow her dreams of becoming a premiere dancer by accepting a position at the Novikov Ballet Company in her birthplace, Russia. It was no easy decision. Silja also had to leave the man she loved, Grant Ketchum. For the past five years, she kept communication with him scarce—was it because she didn’t love him anymore or was it because she couldn’t bear to think about what she’d left behind. Now she needs him more than ever!

AUTHOR BIO

Into the Crossfire - Author Photo
For twenty-six years Cindy’s life whirled around a song and a dance. She was a professional dancer/choreographer for most of her adult life and never gave much thought to a writing career until 2005. She often notes: Don’t ask me what happened, but suddenly I felt drawn to my computer to write about things that I have experienced with my husband’s Thoroughbreds and happenings at the racetrack — she muses: they are greatly exaggerated upon of course—I’ve never been murdered. Viola! Cindy’s first book series, Unbridled, was born. Currently there are five books in the series.
Cindy is a huge fan of romantic suspense series’, especially with a military ops theme. Although she isn’t one to make New Year’s resolutions, on New Year’s Day 2013 she made a commitment to write one. Most recently, Secret Cravings Publishing has picked up her First Force Series. Currently available: Into the Crossfire, and Book #2, To the Breaking Pointe. 2016 will bring Book #3, Into the Dark and Book #4, To the Brink.
People are always asking Cindy: Do you miss dance? With a bitter sweet smile on her lips she tells them: Sometimes I do. I miss my students. I miss choreographing musicals, but I love writing my books, and I love sharing them with my readers.
Cindy resides on her forty-five acre horse farm with her husband, Bill, and her Cocker Spaniel, Allister, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

One Night in Cleveland by Megan Morgan (@morgan_romance) ~ Release Blitz

I’M THANKFUL FOR EROTICA

Today is Thanksgiving in the US, a day we get together with family and friends, feast, and remember all the things we have to be thankful for. In One Night In Cleveland, my hero Matt is thankful for being mistakenly arrested—why? Because the cop who arrests him, sexy Lieutenant Caylee Benton, stepped right out of his fantasies.

Caylee is thankful for Matt too: a reformed bad boy now working as a chef, he’s a little rougher than what she usually goes for, but she can’t resist just a little taste…or more. They’re about to have a wild and lusty twenty-four hours in Cleveland and be extra thankful at the end.

Me, I’m thankful for erotica and erotic romance. Why? I love to write and read it. Here’s the reasons why:

- Something for everyone: Erotica explores a myriad of subjects, from the super kinky to the sweetly vanilla. With so many writers exploring so many different plots, desires, tastes, and taboos, everyone can find something they like.

- Diversity: Erotica spans cultures, races, sexualities, body types, and genders. No matter who you are and what walk of life you come from, you can find erotica that fits you. Erotica doesn’t conform!

- Community: Erotica writers stick together. Some authors come from situations in which they can’t be open about what they write, so they need connection with other authors who understand what it’s like to peddle smut for a living.

- Humor: Erotica takes a light-hearted approach to storytelling. After all, it’s all about sex, and sex is fun. Most erotica authors can crack a saucy joke about themselves, too. When the world needs smut, we provide like smut superheroes!

- The great escape: I can be as studious as the next person, but sometimes I want to turn my brain off and enjoy a drool-worthy description of a hot guy dangling a pair of handcuffs. Sometimes I want to read about a sexy romp between the sheets or how that gorgeous hunk swept a girl off her feet (and into the sheets). It’s like chocolate covered strawberries in a hot bubble bath at the end of a long day.

This is but a short list of reasons I’m thankful people write smut—and that they let me join in. The fantasy is lovely to explore. How about you, what are you thankful for?

EXCERPT:

He looked down at her, his eyes guarded, body tense. “So…that’s my ugly part. That’s what you’re getting, if you want to pursue this.”

She rested a hand on his stomach. “It takes a lot of courage to make a change like that.” She spoke softly. “You’re very brave. I’m glad you defeated your demons. I’m glad you’re here now.”

He relaxed. “Thank you.”

“That doesn’t freak me out, and yes, I’d like to pursue this.” She curled her fingers in his shirt. “That is, if you do.”

“I’d love to.”

She lifted her head and he kissed her again. She rubbed his chest. He gripped her hip, and she wanted more than anything for him to pull her into his lap. The heat inside her flared up again, making her burn.

She broke away. “Let’s go inside.” She’d made a decision.

He nodded and got up with her.

Once inside, she hurriedly closed and locked the bedroom door. Matt stood in the middle of the room, at the end of her bed. The lamp was on in the corner, casting yellow light across the carpet and ceiling.

“Caylee?” He arched an eyebrow.

She walked over to him and pressed her body against his, needing to feel him.

“Your grandma,” he whispered.

“She’s sound asleep. She’s a heavy sleeper, trust me. It’s the reason I wish she’d pay her alarm bill.” She stretched up to his mouth.

He kissed her lightly. “Yeah, but—”

“This is my place. I’m an adult.” She caressed his broad shoulders. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you all day. About what we did in the car. I was looking forward to tonight, I was hoping for so much more. Even though I tried to pretend I could behave myself.”

He gripped her hips, his big hands making her waist seem tiny. “I was thinking about you too. Getting off once with you wasn’t enough. It was just a taste.”

“If you really want to leave, I’ll let you go.” She tugged the bottom of his shirt up. “But I can’t stand the teasing anymore. I’m ready to explode. I need you.”

“I don’t think I could walk out of here right now if I wanted to.”

BLURB:

Chef Matt Fattore lives a clean and lawful life—so he doesn’t expect to meet the woman of his wet dreams by being arrested by her. When Lieutenant Caylee Benton of the Cleveland PD mistakes him for a wanted burglar, Matt finds out fantasies sometimes land right in your lap—and frisk you.

Sparks fly despite the misunderstanding and Matt decides to take a chance and ask her out—and maybe, coax her into bed. But Caylee is more than just a beautiful woman with a badge and a gun. While Matt is falling in lust with her, she’ll become his hero, too.

Matt is about to spend the wildest twenty-four hours of his life in Cleveland, and if he’s lucky, he’ll be in handcuffs by the end of the night.

Excerpt:
CHAPTER ONE
Rachel Winestock quietly let herself into the room where her grandmother lay nestled under the sheets, the blankets swallowing her slender frame. Pale and shrunken, she was a frail shadow of what she had been months ago. Rachel smiled at the sound of her steady breathing and light snoring. Nana needed her rest and was stubborn about admitting it. Peering over at her wizened face, her grandmother’s lips appeared chapped.
Damn it. What do these people have against ChapStick?
It wasn’t fair. Nana appeared to be shrinking right before her eyes. Rachel had already lost her parents. She didn’t want to lose Nana too. It was too much. Especially after everything they’d been through over the last year. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes and she fought against them. She had to be strong.
No.
If Nana woke up and found her crying, there would be hell to pay. Rachel sniffled and forced her emotions in check.
“She needs to get out of here.” Thickety blurted out, his shadowy form hidden in the dimness of the room. His long cat tail flicked his distain, and he edged his head toward Rachel. Red eyes glowed from his smoky black form that could be as solid or transparent as he needed it to be. “The smell is worse than a cat box.”
“Why do you insist on following me? Can’t you just leave well enough alone?” Rachel ground out, trying her hardest not to make eye contact with the demonic cat. He’d been in her life since she could remember and nowhere along the way had it ever been easy. “And I know that. Look at those bruises.”
“Hey. I’m doing you a solid here. You want to know where the missing bracelet is that used to be on her arm? I’d look at that attendant down the hall.”
“The last time I listened to you someone almost died.”
“Don’t you mean ignore? I told you the child was in the house, not to go poking into foundation walls with no structure to hold them up. There’s a difference, sweet cheeks.” Thickety raised his paw and licked at his foot. “Remember I was right. Just because your friend decided to get a little crazy with a mallet and found herself buried was not my fault.”
Rachel sucked in a breath and gritted her teeth. “Look. I came here to see my grandmother. Can we save the arguments for later?”
“Fine.” The cat yawned and crept closer, his eyes focused on Rachel’s Nana. “She used to be livelier than this. What are they feeding her?”

“I don’t know but whatever it is, it’s not enough. She looks terrible.” Weak and more fragile than she had ever seen her, Rachel had to do something to get her out of here. Even if that something was take a job working for Harold Danvers. The past was the past. It was easy to say that until the nightmares came, leaving her shaking in her bed covered in sweat.
